College Liaisons

College Liaisons:

  • Act as a point of contact within the college for faculty, staff, post docs and students to raise a concern
  • Review and identify inequities, develop recommendations and forward to the dean for consideration
  • Assist individual faculty, staff, post docs and students in navigating policies, procedures and processes as well as individual concerns. Identify appropriate programs, college and university resources and connect faculty, staff, students and post docs to these as appropriate
  • Provide an external perspective for departments in reviewing the application of policies, procedures and processes
  • Participate in meetings (as non-voting, impartial participants) to provide external perspectives as needed
  • Provide mentoring or coaching to individual faculty, staff, students and post docs to help navigate concerns around policy, procedure and process, if appropriate

Discussions with College Liaisons are generally confidential unless the topic falls within the scope of mandatory reporting as required by Title IX.

In addition to the College Liaisons, the Faculty Ombuds Office is also available to faculty, staff, post docs and students. Find out more about the Faculty Ombuds Office at https://academic-affairs.utah.edu/office-for-faculty/facultyombuds/
